Here’s why you want to learn how to use Google Plus for your Business.
First things first. Set up your gmail account. Everything runs around this, so just do it!
It’s pretty easy to set up a Google Plus Page for your Business. Just go to the main sign in page and click on Google + for Business and it’ll take you to a web page where you can Create a Page. Just follow the instructions. You can even upload a nice, custom image to reflect you and your business.
Now, you want to start adding people to your Google Circles. You can define your own circles… clients, colleagues, family, what ever you want. It’s really excellent to be able to do that because when you place a post or and update, you can make is public to ALL your circles OR send it out to only those in a specified circle. Also, you look at only the post of those in certain circles at any given time. This makes life so much easier.
So, start building your network. It’s easy to search for anyone. Also, take a look at the communities within Google Plus and look for like-minded individuals you can share with. You can even start your OWN community.
Sharing content is very easy.
One of my favorite things about Google Plus is that you can have a video chat, also called a Hangout, with people in your circles. You can stream the video live and record it to Youtube, which incidentally, is connected to you, because Google owns it. Think about the training you could do online and then share with others. It’s absolutely amazing.
Now, if you have a personal blog, you want people to see what you post on it. If you post a blog post in your Google Plus circles and people +1 it, that is like a social vote that people like it, similar to facebook likes. Google likes it.
You can also put a Plus One button on your blog so people can Plus One it there. Google +1’s are powerful social proof and the Google Search Engine looks at those when figuring out where to put your blog post in the search page results.
The size of your network also has an impact on how well your content might rank in their search engine. Use can register as a Google author, and if you have a lot of people in your circles, it appears to help your authority.
Another great tip on how to use Google Plus for Business is to utilize the Events in the profile tab. There is so much you can do with these… a lot to cover in an overview post. But this is a great tool for engaging your community!
